FS International makes a new step forward in the Middle East

FS Italian Railways (Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane Group), represented through its subsidiary FS International S.p.A., is a member of the FLOW Consortium responsible for the operation and maintenance services of lines 3, 4, 5, and 6 of Riyadh Metro project.

The contract, which has been signed between the FLOW Consortium and the Royal Commission of Riyadh City – former Riyadh Development Authority – in 2018, has a value of US $ 2.9 billion.

The mobilization phase is ongoing and the metro is expected to start the commercial service in the near future.

The role of FS, represented by both FS International S.p.A. and its local subsidiary FS Italian Railways Saudi Arabia, was paramount to achieve a successful mobilization and secure the project startup. It also allows FS to increase its presence and visibility in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East.

FS International S.p.A. and FS Italian Railways Saudi Arabia will launch the operation and maintenance of the Riyadh Metro project in collaboration with the other FLOW Consortium’s members and the Royal Commission of Riyadh City.
