On 10 and 11 November 2025, FS International held its first Convention at the National Railway Museum of Pietrarsa, Naples, bringing together over 200 professionals from the Group’s leading European companies operating in the international passenger transport sector.
Under the “Ready for the Next Move” slogan, the initiative provided a key opportunity for discussion and alignment on the strategic vision and future priorities of the International Passenger Business Unit, with a focus on the targets for 2026.
Over the course of the event, a strong consensus emerged on the need to strengthen integration between the Group’s various operational units by promoting an increasingly synergistic and coordinated approach to tackle the challenges of the European rail market.
The proceedings were opened by Stefano Antonio Donnarumma, the Chief Executive Officer and General Director of the FS Group, who emphasised the strategic role of international business and the need to combine competitiveness with collaboration in order to support the development of European mobility.
Luigi Corradi, Sole Administrator of FS International, then outlined the main areas of development, emphasising the importance of consolidating the ongoing activities and of operating as a single international team, making the most of the expertise and synergies across the various countries.
Through themed sessions and opportunities for discussion, the Convention laid the foundations for strengthening strategic alignment and a sense of belonging, helping to define a shared course towards a European transport system that is increasingly sustainable, integrated and competitive.
The FS Group meets with Infrabel, the Belgian infrastructure manager
On 14 October 2025, the FS Group hosted a delegation from Infrabel, the Belgian railway infrastructure manager, for a day of discussions and technical review.
The event, organised by FS International, gave the delegation an overview of the FS Group’s structure, its expertise and areas of excellence, with a particular focus on the experience it has gained in the high-speed rail sector beyond Italy’s borders.
FS Holding’s Global Strategy & International Department, which had already been in contact with Infrabel in recent months, provided an overview of the Group’s international development strategies.
For its part, Infrabel presented its network and its plans to open up the infrastructure to new rail operators, highlighting the services offered and the technical characteristics of the network.
Following the meeting, the visit continued in Bologna, where the delegation – after travelling on the Frecciarossa 1000 high-speed train and enjoying a tour of the driver’s cab – visited the RFI Operations Centre, gaining an in-depth understanding of the planning and monitoring processes for the Italian rail network and seeing for themselves the advanced digital solutions and integrated traffic management systems in place.
The meeting provided a fruitful opportunity for discussion with a key player in European rail transport, marking a further step towards the FS Group’s objective of promoting the development of passenger rail transport abroad with a view to creating a “European Underground”.
