Acquired by FS in 2011, Netinera Deutschland is the third largest private operator in German local public transport.
It offers rail and road services in 11 federal states and the three city states of Berlin, Bremen and Hamburg through its extensive network of subsidiaries and affiliates, using 18 different brands (including ODEG, vlexx, trilex, alex and erixx).
Netinera Deutschland also operates cross-border connections with Poland, the Czech Republic and France, as well as transport services for people with reduced mobility and maintenance services for other operators.

Acquired by FS in 2017 following the privatization process established by the Greek government, Hellenic Train is the only operator of suburban passenger rail transport in Greece. The company also handles almost all rail freight transport in the country.
The main line on which it operates daily passenger rail services is Athens-Thessaloniki.
In 2019, the company completed the acquisition of EESSTY (the Greek public company responsible for train maintenance), effectively becoming a vertically integrated company.

Established in 2016, Trenitalia UK - in partnership with First Group - has acquired the West Coast connections, including services from London to Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool, Preston, Chester, Edinburgh, and Glasgow with the Avanti West Coast brand.
The two partners are also working on the development and commissioning of the new High Speed 2 line (160 km between London and Birmingham).
Moreover, Trenitalia UK has developed, certified, and implemented the PICO4UK multichannel ticketing system. The system, which represented an innovation in the British market, is used successfully by c2c and Avanti West Coast, and the company is committed to extending the use of the platform to other operators.
